Advanced Excel Training
Completed two courses with Citylit College, London obtaining a BCS ITQ Level 2 & 3 ECDL qualification in advanced Microsoft Office.
The skills gained on this course were:
- Advanced Word: including formatting text and tables, utilizing referencing features, creating tables of contents, enhancing productivity with fields, forms, and templates, using advanced mail merge and macros, and managing master documents, subdocuments, watermarks, sections, headers, and footers.
- Advanced Excel: functions including sophisticated logical, statistical, financial, and mathematical operations, creating and formatting charts, analysing data with tables and lists, using scenarios and pivot tables, validating and auditing data, working with named cell ranges, macros, and templates, and applying spreadsheet security features.
- Microsoft Access: including understanding key concepts in database development, creating relational databases with advanced table features and complex relationships, designing queries with wildcards, parameters, and calculations, enhancing forms with controls and subforms, and improving productivity with report controls and macros.
- Advanced PowerPoint: build presentations by understanding your target audience and venue, creating and modifying templates, formatting slide backgrounds, enhancing presentations with drawing and image tools, applying advanced chart formatting, creating and editing diagrams, inserting movies and sound, using built-in animations, and managing custom slide shows with various settings and controls.
Data Analyst Training
Completed an extensive course with UpSkill Digital, training me in the various key areas of data analysis, while gaining the qualification of Microsoft certified Power BI Data Analyst Associate.
The highlights of the course were:
- Collecting data via a range of different tools and methods.
- Cleansing data effectively and efficiently.
- Utilising R, Python, SQL and Excel to analyse data.
- Using Power BI and Tableau to visualise and present data.
- Store data securely and in-line with GDPR policies.
Here is an overview of the structure of the course and skills gained:
- Introduction to data analysis: Understanding the complete data analysis cycle as well as understanding business workflow from end to end. Getting familiar with some of the core concepts of statistics and probability as well as the predictive analysis techniques to forecast the trends or behaviours.
- Excel in data analysis: Developing skills by learning key techniques and building logical formulas and aggregations, learning how to utilise the pivot function in Excel and extract powerful insights with the help of dynamic dashboards.
- Python in data analysis: Learning the syntax and structure of programming in Python, including basic data types and data structures along with the control flow of the program and how to reuse the code with the help of methods and functions. Learning intermediate concepts of Python that include OOP and regular expressions. Learning the fundamentals of Web Scraping using built-in libraries of Python and query external data sources using APIs in Python.
- Python and R in data analysis: Exploring the different libraries in Python and R for data cleaning and wrangling techniques. Using visualisations and predictive modelling techniques to extract data-driven insights critical for decision-making in business.
- SQL in data analysis: Learning key SQL skills for the analysis industry. Producing summarised aggregated views and mastering the art of data manipulation in SQL.
- Tableau and Power BI: A comprehensive hands-on guide to learning Microsoft Power BI and Tableau desktop. Connecting to multiple data sources and creating stunning interactive dashboards from scratch.
Python Training
Completed multiple courses with Citylit College London covering many areas of Python coding, from intermediate to advanced as well as writing algorithms.
Intermediate Python
- Topics covered: code hiding and reuse with sub-routines and modules: advanced data structures – lists, Dictionaries, and Tuples; graphical Interfaces using Tkinter
- Outcomes: build sub-routines and use modules for code libraries; utilize advanced data structures; create graphical user interfaces for Windows, Mac, and Linux.
Advanced Python
- Topics covered: object Oriented programming theory and implementation; unit testing and test-driven development; closures and generators.
- Outcomes: explain and implement OO concepts: class, object, interface, etc; design and implement class hierarchies; set up and use unit tests; write and apply closures and generators.
Algorithms in Python:
- Topics covered: data structures: linked lists, queues, hashmaps, stacks; state machines; sorting and searching algorithms; pathfinding and decision-making algorithms; functions, including recursive functions.
- Outcomes: identify and use various data structures; implement state machines; develop and understand sorting and searching algorithms; write pathfinding algorithms; use decision trees for complex information navigation.

A decade of working in various business settings has given me strong communication skills. I have worked mainly as a Business English Teacher as well as a Manager and Co-founder of a start-up.
